How to create or migrate to new USPS API

Follow these steps to generate and connect your USPS API credentials to the ShipX app:

1. Visit the USPS Developer portal site (click here).

2. Sign up for the USPS Developer portal. Sign in to your USPS account or sign up for an account.

3. Select the Apps tab and click Add App.

4. Enter the app name and ignore the other fields

5. Enable Public Access and click Add App.

6. Once the app is added, click the Edit button.

7. Switch to the View tab.

8. Under Credential, you will find the Customer Key (Client ID) and Consumer Secret (Client Secret Key). Copy both.

9. On the ShipX app, go to the Scenarios section

10. Click Add Shipping Rate or click on one of your shipping zones.

11. In the Shipping Rates section, select the criteria as USPS.

12. Paste your Client ID and Client Secret Key, then click Save.

Note: If you’re migrating from the older API (user ID) to the new USPS API, click Migrate to the new USPS API, then paste the Client ID and Client Secret Key.

To register for USPS user ID, fill out the USPS webtools registration form on the USPS site which looks like the below screenshot for your reference,

Once the form is submitted. The User ID will be sent to your registered email address. Once you receive the User ID email from USPS, reply to it requesting activation of the required USPS API to enable integration with third-party web services, such as our app.

Then you can validate that User ID on our app to link your USPS account in our app.

Once the User ID is validated successfully in our app, you can choose your preferred shipping services on our app and you will be able to see the rates from USPS at the checkout page.
